Shopping >Wilson Diamonds
Finally, an honest and personal jeweler! I was very impressed with everyone I met at Wilson diamonds when we purchased my wedding ring. My husband and I went to 4 other stores in town (no, I won't name them), and just felt like they were all there just to take our money. Wilson's was completely different. They sat us down, showed us an amazing selection of rings (more than I saw at any other store, btw), and instead of trying to 'close the deal' they actually spent about 2 hours educating my husband and me about how to find a good diamond. They then proceeded to encourage us to look around at their competitors - something no-one else did. Since we had already checked out their competitors we didn't feel the need to do it again, but it was nice to see someone who was confident enough in their rings and price that they would even go as far as telling us to check out other stores. Thank you, I will be sending all my friends!
Great Customer Service!. I had a great experience picking out my Fiancee's ring with my rep at Wilson Diamonds! First thing she did when I walked in was ask my name (which was something that all the other ring shops seemed to not really care to ask...) and used it frequently while she helped me find a perfect ring. It felt like working with a friend to find the perfect gift and was able to pick out a gorgeous ring and a wonderful diamond that I was able to pick out among several diamonds that she let me see under magnifying glasses. I'd recommend Wilson Diamonds to anyone!
I love my Engagement Ring. My fiance shopped for my ring all by himself (I'm so proud) He had a great experience and I LOVE my ring. Just a few weeks later I took my brother there to look for rings for his future fiancee. Referrals rock! Go to Wilson. ;)
Best Experience Ever. I had a jeweler friend in another state that was going to get me the wholesale price on my wifes wedding ring. When it was getting closer to going down to pick out the ring I started thinking about the drawbacks ie if there were any problems I would have to go back to get it fixed and dipped ect... So we started looking around here. We went to several different jewelers and finally ended up at Wilson Diamonds as recommended from my brother and friends. It was a total turn around. The staff was very friendly and they had a very nice selection. After my wife saw the ring she liked we had to pick the center stone. The employee started showing us the stones that are hand picked and rated by Richard Wilson (owner of the store). He quoted me a great price on the ring and stone and we left to come back another day. When I went back to purchase the ring that employee wasn't there and Richard helped me. He pulled out the stone and ring and started doing the calculations and he told me the price was almost $1,500 more than I was quoted. I didn't have my written quote with me at the time (stupid on my behalf) but I told him the price I was quoted. He really didn't believe that I was quoted so low because of the size and quality of the center stone. All in all he took my word, didn't make me drive back to my house to get the quote and gave me the ring at the quoted price. I was VERY impressed with his buisness ethics. The free cleaning, free dips, and life-time services are just added benefits. I recommend Wilson Diamonds to all of my buddies at work and all of them have ended up purchasing from here too with great experiences just like mine. They have bought themselves a customer for life!
Not the best deal/service. The sales girl was super patient with us- it took us forever to pick out what we wanted. Then they were willing to customize it and have it done in a week since we were only going to be in town for a week. However, my husband was trading in a ring from a previous relationship and we did not get a good value for it at all whatsoever. The jeweler he bought it from was willing to give him full price back if we bought our ring from them, but we liked Wilson's selection and decided to go there, hoping they would respect our choice to deal with them and give us at least half the value of the ring. In the end, we only got $400 off the price of the new ring. (My husband paid $1,200 for the first ring.) Then, when we came to pick it up at the designated time, they hadn't even started on it. They told us we could come get it in a few hours. When we did, I think because they were rushing to get it done, the diamond seemed off centered and one of the lines that was supposed to be straight was shaved down too much. We met with the owner who looked at it through a magnifying glass and said he saw nothing, but if he had, it was an "expected tolerance" and that I should basically deal with it. Thinking it was just my imagination and that I was being overly picky, we left, but when I showed my ring to others, with their bare eyes, they too noticed the "tolerance." I took it to a jeweler back home who offered to fix it for free, even though she didn't even sell me the ring. While they have a great selection, I think they take advantage of the high BYU population/engagement rates and don't take the time for quality customer service that you can find elsewhere. If you can find what you like somewhere else, I'd steer away from Wilson.
Richard Wilson has taken advantage of me more than any other person in my life..
The service I received from him was excellent at first, but has changed to shoddy, disrespectful, and even illegal. He has proven to be manipulative, dishonest, and completely unsympathetic to a customers grievances against him.
- keeping me in his office for over an hour doing hand-written calculations to decide my account standing
- telling me of his losses associated with a return to justify a "change in return policy"
- continually claiming that he has met, but actually refusing to address my concerns
- refusing to cash out my store credit despite the fact that I would never conduct business with him again
- writing up receipts against my credit without consulting me
- throwing together lists of charges that had never been itemized
- telling me that the confusion over return policies was my fault (FTC policy on deception)
What has he done to compensate me for this type of customer service? He has finally restored my credit to the expected value, but this only came from a lot of grief and effort. So... nothing.
I have tried all summer to resolve this privately with him, but to no avail.
