As shady as they come
by Denisesnitch2 at Citysearch
There was a language barrier between myself and the employees, I am not sure they understood the problem with my car. They were very abrupt, they were not helpful. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I could tell they were a shady auto place. To be honest, I am not sure how they are still in business. They must be in desperate need because I took my car somewhere else who quoted me 50% less.
Shouldn't touch cars

If there were a rating for negative stars, thats what i'd give 'em. Only put one star cause its required.
Took my car in for motor and tranny replacement. Multiple scratches, chips, dents in car. Took weeks and hundreds more than quoted. Still wasn't done. Took to another shop to finish the job. Found parts i had paid to replace were not replaced. They didn't even put the air filter back in sprayed a clear coat on everything to make it look good n new. With no air filter it sucked the clear coat into the motor and it ruined a very expensive sensor. I agree w Dbar's comment on useing the temple and jesus pictures to make you believe they are honest god fearin people. Wouldnt let them put gas in my lawn mower.
A job well done.

I'm surprised to see the bad reviews. I have used Japanese Auto repair twice and have found them honest, reliable and to do good work. I guess it depends on your expectations. I have a 2000 Honda Prelude which I normally have had serviced at a Honda dealer. I bought the car new, and believe in the idea that it is worth paying for good maintenance. I'm not looking for the cheapest job, but good quality work that will keep this car running well for several more years. The model isn't made anymore.
There were a number of issues that had to be resolved including a cracked catalytic converter. Japanese auto correctly diagnosed the issues (which I was pretty certain about for a number of reasons), made the repairs, completed a full service, provided parts to my specification at reasonable prices. I felt that the total price was fair, especially in comparison with what I would pay at the dealership in San Francisco. I'm fussy about this vehicle, and I'm pleased with the service provided.
Perhaps it is all about expectations, but I have found no reason for complaint, rather a reason to recommend Japanese Auto Repair in Provo.
What a joke

This place sucks. Don't GO here!!! The guy quoted me on one price, but when he found out another company quoted me higher he tried to change his quote. I walked out. It's a joke, they are very dishonest people and yet they put pictures of lds temples and christ on their wall to try and manipulate customers into thinking they are an honest company. Very un-profesional, read the previous reviews. I choose 0 stars.
