Awesome Vet!.
I breed chinchillas and when 2 of my girls got in a fight, one of them came out with her head completely scalped. Not really sure what to do I rushed her into a non exotic vet and kept going back for
a few weeks until I realized that her head was beginning to abcess and that she was just not acting right. I called Riverwoods and told them what was going on and they got me in that very same day even though they were completely booked. When I got there there was no wait, I was placed right in a room with the Doctor examining her. She was VERY gentle with her and sent her home on a few medications as well as the supplies to clean out her wound. I continued going back for recheck appointments for about 8 weeks until her head had finally healed.
Since then I have taken many of my other chinchillas to her and have been extremely pleased with the care they have received while at her clinic.
I wouldn't go anywhere else! I definately reccomend her for all of your veterinary needs!…
misdiagnose.
We had two dogs, the only reason I'm writing this is because we are looking for another vet to take our German Shepherd right now and thought I would let you know about our other dog a little over a
year ago.
We had a NewFoundland mix we took into Riverwoods because she had developed a fairly large lump on her neck. The diagnoses from Riverwoods was a benign tumor after sending it to the labratory. They drained fluid from it and thought she would be fine.
Within four weeks the tumor had quickly grown into the size of a large grapefruit. We made an appointment to go back in, but before we could get her back in she got very sick. We rushed her to the urgent care late one night worried something was extremely wrong. After an X-Ray, we were told she had cancer throughout her entire body that had been eating away for the last couple months.
Obviously the misdiagnosis didn't cause our dog to die, but we were pretty frustrated after being told a large tumor was benign. You have to wonder what type of lab they are sending the tumor to, or if they are at all, and just charging us for it.
The vet at Riverwoods always seemed nice enough and reasonably priced, but it seems like cancer would be easy enough to detect.
Proceed with caution.…
They took care of us!.
My American Eskimo had medical issues that needed urgent care.
The staff took such good care of my dog while I was there. She was very old and I was nervous about putting her under anesthesia. They gave me my options and helped me make the decisions I needed to.
They needed to give her a sedative before they did anything because she was freaking out, and they let me give her the liquid medicine orally with a syringe. I was able to hold her while she calmed down and walk her back to her kennel.
I appreciate everything they did for my dogs.…
Dr. Dobson is a miracle worker.... I currently have three ferrets that I wouldn't think of taking anywhere else... Dr. Dobson is great with them and my rugrats love her... One of my ferrets has Adrenal Disease and gets treatments every month... Thanx to Dr.Dobson he's doing great, all his hair grew back and he's back to his normal self! I also had an older female ferret who required multiple surgeries and treatments, Dr. Dobson did wonders for her too! Dr. Dobson and the staff all make you feel important and go out of their way to take care of you and your pet. I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. And if you have ferrets Dr. Dobson is the only vet around that seems to know anything about them! Highly recommended!!!…
Nice location, nice atmosphere, but bad service, won't go again. I liked the location and the setup of this facility but I got bad vibes there. The doctor misdiagnosed my dog and her leg ended up having to be amputated. Wouldn't recommend this place.
