Lehi >Tepanyaki Japanese Steakhouse
Ruined Evening Out.
Saturday night after Thanksgiving, a group of us had reservations at Tepanyaki in Lehi. We arrived promptly, waited a very short time for the rest of our group and we were seated at two tables. Our waiter began to take drink orders, came back with the drinks and then asked the first couple at our table what they'd like to order. They replied "We aren't quite ready yet". The waiter then said "Then I will go to the other table if you are not ready because do you see how many people are waiting to have dinnner here?" He also said "We need to get moving!!" What? Are you kidding me? This was our dinner night out, we had reservations! "We need to get moving!" I was apauled and so was my boyfriend! When the same waiter came to take my boyfriends order, Steve responded by saying" Well, I'd like the steak and chicken, but if you are in too big of a hurry to make that for me, then I'll take a bowl of rice since other people are waiting!" The waiter said "What did you say?" He replied "You heard me!"
If we had not been with a large group, we would have excused ourselves and left!
As dinner went on and the evening was winding down, some had received their checks and others had not and a couple of us were not finished eating or even getting a chance to visit.....Much to my surprise, the manager of the place came to help clean our table to make room for newly arriving guests! I
I guess you could say that we won't be attending the Tepanyaki in Lehi ever again. It was a cattle call, shuffle, uncomfortable, rushed and we had been in and out in just shortly over an hour! Excellent food! Horrible service! It was clearly about moving us in and out to grab as much money that night on the books! Humm! Not my kind of night out, spending the extra, having a reservation and then being PUSHED!!!! NO WAY!
New style with more fun. come check it out. :)).
its been a six years the Tepanyaki Lehi never get any change. BUT NOW....you should check it out again the new Tepanyaki Lehi....
IT"S NOT ABOUT DINNER.
IT"S ABOUT MORE FUN & ENTERTAINMENT!!!
Great Food. Fun Atmosphere..
First of all, I would like to address the previous concern mentioned my Johndue (perhaps they were going for John Doe and couldn't spell). Obviously, they seem to have a vendetta out for the new manager. Since they aren't "white" they are 'clearly incapable of offering good service. it's clear that people like this are ignorant and significant problem to society. Additionally, who cares if you have been to Japan? You stated yourself that the new lady was a Japanese woman (which you are probably just assuming) and couldn't satisfy your needs, perhaps you wanted free food? wouldn't surprise me.
Also, for someone who seems to be too concerned about 'english' speaking, remember that it is English; take note in the capital E (noun).
Anyway, the food is great, the staff is fun and the pricing is decent.
Fun and rare for the area.
This is a Japanese sushi and steakhouse...the kind where you sit down around a hot grill and watch your chef prepare your food in front of you while he does a few tricks.
I've been to better sushi/steakhouses in this type of style before, with better chefs, more elegantly prepared food, but even this location is still fun for all.
The food was pretty good, traditionally cooked, and the chefs were amateurish at best.
The pricing is a little high, but be sure to get a combo to save some money. If you have a little money to spend, try some of the unique sushi and surprise your palate.
Each table/grill sits about 8 adults, and there is one section of the restaurant where they can combine the seating area for a larger group; however, they don't really take reservations.
Service terrible. Staff appearence is dirty. Drunks in the sushi bar... DON'T EAT THERE!. This restaurant isn't even real Japanese! I'VE BEEN TO JAPAN!!! The woman manager is rude and can't speak english! They use to have a white guy manager who was very polite and seemed to care... WHAT HAPPENED? I use to eat there twice a week because they had great hospitality, nice warm atmostphere, and chefs who were entertaining. Now... I don't eat there anymore and rather eat at Bonzai or Sakura. I feel my very last visit was horrible. Our waitress had the unfriendliest face gesture, my drinks were never refilled, the chef smelled of horribly bad body odor which made me lose my appetite, and when I wanted to speak to the manager man who I've always said hi to, I got this old japanese woman who didn't speak english and also could not attend to my needs as I always received in the past.
