Tips for Ulm, Sean R, Dds - Synergy Dental Llc

Actually, I think he's probably the best Dentist in UT! I read the unpleasant review below and I have to say, I think he's great--but no one's a mind reader! If you go in for a painful tooth, don't keep it a secret! Ideally he'd spot it, but a 10 year old is not a 3 year old, he can tell you which tooth hurts!

Anyway, our family experience is much better. The negligent dentist in Ogden I went to gave me a crown, which fell out 6mo later (not a 10 year job as advertised). I let that hole in my mouth hurt for 3 months as all my teeth got progressively more sensitive. I searched, and finally I found this dentist. I liked how he didn't use mercury (i.e., amalgam fillings), but would safely remove it and fill it with an inert "porcelain" type ceramic filling. He removed all my mercury fillings (I was about 44 years old, and they had begun to crack all my teeth, as those amalgam fillings do over time). He's also smart enough to not use fluoride, unless you demand it; fluoride has downsides which are not frequently spoken of--do your research.

My teeth were sensitive for about 2-3 months afterward, but his good, careful work paid off and my sensitivity is now gone for over a year. I think he and his staff are great, and they deserved some good feedback, so that's why I wrote. I bring my whole family there and am very thankful for their service and great attitudes!

Do NOT go to this dentist.. Although our first impressions of the office, staff and dentist were good, my husband, sons (13 & 10) and I all had VERY disappointing experiences with Dr. Ulm. The following experiences all occurred within a month.

- For a simple color match for a cavity; Dr. Ulm used gray, in the white tooth. - My son had a painful cavity that Dr. Ulm completely missed on his check up, the reason he went in. A month later we went to another dds who said it must have been there a month before. - My 10 year old does not like going to the dentist. (Who does?) There wasn't any laughing gas, or sympathy. - I'm not sure what he did to my tooth but it hurts worse than it did before I went in and I can't eat on my right side at all.

I now wonder if he knows what he is doing and I am looking for a new dentist for our family.
