Amazingly Bad Food

by mjedlicka

This is one of the worst dining experiences I have had. I'm compelled to try to balance out the positive reviews which must have been written by management. I was served a DEFROSTED SALAD at this place. The cherry tomato had ice inside, and where I mentioned to the grumpy server that I could not eat this wilted disaster he informed me that "that's how we do salad here", as if freezing lettuce were some LDS cuisine quirk. It's not. The 'french dip' was dry and tasteless and served with a cup of au jus that I suspect was actually soy sauce. No replacement, substitution was offered. Ended up at the truck stop across the freeway where the food is unremarkable but at least edible. Please stay away from this nightmare.

  • Pros: close to freeway
  • Cons: food is inedible

Country home cooking in a warm and welcoming café.

by Contributor

The Scene
The exterior is reminiscent of English Tudor design. The restaurant is sectioned into small cubicles each containing two to four booths making for a quiet dining experience. Service is fast and courteous.

The Food
Hearty portions of country home cooking. Signature dishes include the big bite burger ($6.49), the JC burger combo with homemade soup or salad ($5.69) and spaghetti with sirloin steak ($9.49). Specials are featured daily: the roast pork is a standout entrée with real mashed potatoes and a mild bread stuffing ($6.69).

Seafood dishes include grilled halibut ($11.99) and a number of deep fried offerings—the seafood platter ($10.49) has shrimp, Alaskan white fish, scallops and clams. If you're the type that can't get enough fried fish, go for the all-you-can-eat fish and chips for $9.29.

Be sure to save room for dessert. The homemade pies are cut into generous slices and are served warm ($2.29).

Pleasant Surprise

by bubbaoriley

The billboards intrigued us so we thought we'd give it a try. Good food at a fair value. A pleasant surprise after eating fast food the rest of our trip.
